Apprenticeship Begins with 4 Students

After much time spent preparing the program, training spaces and acquiring credentialing through both NCCER and the DOL, Burkhead Electric held it's first Apprenticeship class in April of 2020. Four students, all current employees of Burkhead Electric, began the 4 year program learning the skills both in a classroom, lab and on the job learning environments. The opportunity that having an in-house apprenticeship program provides to Burkhead Electric is that we are only 1 of 3 accredited programs in the local area - the other two options are the local Electrical Union and ABC (a nationwide organization).

We are looking forward to watching these apprentices develop their skills in the electrical field further and also welcome new members to the program in the years to come.

Burkhead Electric becomes Authorized Generac Sales and Service Dealer

Burkhead Electric has become a Generac Sales and Service dealer as of early August 2020. This provides us the opportunity to meet our customer's needs in having ongoing power during power outages resulting from harsh winters, storm damage, and other situations. Generac is a national company that designs both mobile and permanent generators for use in residential homes to large industrial buildings. Our ability to not only install the generators but provide ongoing maintenance and service promotes generator longevity.
